Moving S.A.L.E...

I have been procrastinating this post all week...though it is something that needs to be done! While it is still unknown of what the future might bring... for now we are moving my store. We may be back?? Just don't know, when, how, who, what :) ...I cannot say. Only time will tell...

If you have never been into my store, you may perhaps just be missing the cutest store you've ever seen :)

This has been a dream come true. Though I never had planned on having a scrapbook store, until I became obsessive of this hobby. Actually I take that back, it is way more than just a hobby. It is life art journaling + photos, in the form of creative art. It can take you places you've never dreamed of. It recaptures your old memories of the past. It makes you write down your meaningful words and things and precious memories you want to be remembered.  It means everything to me.

I have loved all the memories that I have had here...with my girls. If you have been into Scrapalicious, you have met my 2 little girls. They are my helpers, whether I wanted their help or not :) We have been through many Making Memories paint bottle spills and stains on the carpet, ripped paper and cardstock, opened packages of cute embellishments which just goes to my stash...

And I cannot even leave without mentioning my husband, Levi. I have had is help and support 100%. He has helped me in every way possible. From painting walls and hanging slatwall, painting the outside of the store front, to helping arranging and moving and setting product up, to moving the store from Driggs to Rigby, loading trailer fulls for expos and craft fairs, and even helping me cutting paper, and putting together kits. He has done it all, and for me. He so lovingly puts his hobbies second so that I can live my dream. {Boy...am I spoiled. lol, as I am typing this he is at the mall buying my eyeliner for me, what a best friend I have, I ♥ him!} We have been through many good fights and what not with this store, but I would never change it. There has been many things that I have wanted to do more with the store, but my time with my girls and my family come first. But I am happy with what I have done, and the lives I have changed with scrapbooking. The new friends I have made through my business, the memories I will keep for.ever.

Also a big thank you and shout out {I feel as if I am giving an acceptance speech at an awards show, lol} to my parents, Claudia, Cherry, Nancy, Chelsey, Annareigh & RJ {in no particular order} and everyone else who has helped out in some way or another...thank you so much!

Sure this blasted economy has taken its toll on little stores like mine. Sure there could have been more support from people in this area...as I am the last independent scrapbooking store in this area. I would say that I did pretty dang good :)  But I refuse to have people say that I am 'going out of business', lets get things straight. We are moving. {again} ugh. My husband has been working in Utah, we don't see him very often, and it just makes sense to live where he works. Simply said. And my girls are growing up right before my eyes!!!

For the rest of the year, I will be focusing on mini album kits, page kits, and projects that you can purchase from me, online at www.thepolkadotpaisley.com  

I have actually started this earlier...but of course time and life gets in the way :) So please visit soon, the website is not up and running just yet, after we get settled and I get a chance to work at it! Just in time for the holidays and the long winter season :)

Thank you to everyone that attended this event! It was so inspiring! If you missed out...so sad, I feel sorry for you :)

I will post pictures later...for now I just wanted to let everyone know that there are only a few kits available for purchase, if you are local you can pick up at Scrapalicious, otherwise I can ship them to you!

for a fun filled weekend full of classes! For those of you that are coming from out of town, please bring warm clothes...it is now freezing here! Air conditioning one day, heaters the next, you just never know what the weather is going to be like here in Idaho!

A couple things...

1. Class supply list, if you missed this post, just scroll down a couple of posts, and you will see it !
2. For those that are coming Friday evening, if you would like to, you can bring a treat to share :)
3. There is parking in the back of Heidi's Fudge, I would recommend parking there, so that we don't crowd up business parking on Main St.
4. We will take a break in the afternoon in between classes, to grab some dinner. There is Papa Kelsey's (pizza & sandwiches) next door to Heidi's Fudge, or Gator Jacks (quick sandwiches & salads) Wendy's, Arctic Circle, Fiesta Ole, Tam's Old Fashioned...

Directions to Scrapalicious:

Coming from Idaho Falls- take the first Rigby exit, go through both lights, and take a left onto Fremont Ave (across from Broulims, the grocery store) then take a right at the stop sign and Scrapalicious is on the corner, across from the Jr High and City Park.

Coming from Rexburg- take the  North Rigby exit {first exit} and take a right. Go straight {you are on Farnsworth Way} and take a right on First North {at Tam's Old Fashioned} then go a couple blocks and Scrapalicious is on the left.

With everything going on around the world...you hear so many independant scrapbook stores closing down, mostly to bigger chains, but also without the support of their local customer support, and due to personal reasons, because it really does take a lot to run a business. {I have been in business for almost 3 years now, coming up this fall...it has been a crazy ride, and I am glad that I started it. I only wish I had more time for everything...I struggle to find balance with it all. Some days are better than others, but I wouldn't change it for anything.}

And big scrapbooking events are starting to come to an end...so I hear. I am thankful to have attended CKU-Provo, two years in a row when I did, it makes me sad to hear that this is possibly their last year?

And our great local event that my good friend Kim, has been putting together for so many years now...is at its final year this month!
