i just finished this simple wreath today!
also time consuming.
but it's worth it and i love the look of it!
i plan to add a cute junque bow to it on the holidays. and keep it plain in between seasons.
and how cute would it be to add fun trims here and there, like ric rac, vintage lace ♥ so many possibilities!
1 wire wreath form (i used an 18 inch form)
approx 5.5 yards of muslin
simply cut little snips along the edge of the muslin, i cut them at about 1.75 inches apart. that way when you rip them, they are about 1.5 inches with the frayed edge.
*you could also just use your rotary cutter for a cleaner cut look.
then simply tie them in a knot. i tied a single knot because it is fairly time consuming and i wanted to be done fast! (plus you won't be able to tell if it's in a double knot.)
i didn't measure the length of the strips, i simply took each long strip, tied a knot, cut and repeated.
i also worked in each section. instead of going all the way around on each row. (there are 4 rows on the wreath form that i used) and i made sure i squished the knots just enough, so that each row was very full.
my scissors were extremely dull but it added to the "ripped rag" effect :)
i would say it took me about 4-5 hours total to tie, so pick your favorite podcast or show to watch while you work!
