I hope everyone had a good Christmas! We had a good but sickly Christmas ourselves...
Isabella started getting sick late Monday night, and by Tuesday night she wasn't doing so great...I wanted to take her in to the dr on Tuesday, but we figured we wait one more day to see if she got better. Sure enough Tuesday night was the worst for her, she was breathing heavily, like a mini Darth Vader, and up all night off and on.
We hardly got any sleep.
So Wednesday we were going to take her in to the doctor, but Levi wanted to go to...so we had to wait for him to get caught up on work. By the time we left the house it was 4pm. Plus we still had a little Christmas shopping to do.
We went to an Urgent Care office in Lehi, and explained Isa's symptoms to the nurse, she took her vitals, and called the doctor out right away. He almost called an ambulance to take her to the ER...because her oxygen was so low...but we took her instead. Our poor Isa had croup.
When we got to the ER they gave her a steroid and a couple breathing treatments, then some x-rays. That was sad, because she had to be strapped in a plastic contraption with her shirt off and her hands above her head...I wish I had my camera, because it was the saddest sight ever!
Isabella after her treatment...
Gulianna had to freak out...so I ended up sitting in the wheelchair with Isabella, and she walked!
We thought that we would only be there for 4 hours on observation, but they admitted her and we had to stay the night. Levi left to get us some tacos for dinner...we hadn't even had lunch that day, and then to Target for some pajamas and snacks. Poor Isa was so sick, but she still smiled. She's a happy girl!
Isa in her hospital gown...
{yes...and I'm so proud of myself! This picture is from my phone, all these others are from Levi's...finally figured out how to get them on the computer, I have been waiting for.ever for this...since I don't have a cable for my phone. I texted them to Levi's i.phone, and then uploaded, wow a miracle!}
Gulianna and Isabella. Gulianna wanted a hospital gown too, so she took off all her clothes and then when the nurse came back in, she looked at her and said, 'oh do you want one too?' lol...so she got one!
Levi and Gulianna left around 9:00pm for home. He stayed up till 1am or so working on the computer. And then he said by 4am Gulianna had a fever and threw up all over the bed. He wasn't feeling good himself.
They discharged Isabella around noon on Christmas Eve, Levi and Gulianna came to pick us up. We went to Target, which was a mad house, everyone out shopping everywhere on Christmas Eve!
{Which was not my plan to be out shopping last minute, for once...}
Stopped at a couple more stores and then Levi dropped us off at home, and he left to go do a couple jobs. I think that was around 4pm...and then realized that we didn't get Isa's prescription filled...ugh. Then I realized that it really was Christmas Eve, and that everyone was trying to close early. So by the time I got the girls bundled up and in the Bronco it was almost 4:30. I called Walmart and the customer service girl said the pharmacy closed at 4pm that night...but really they closed at 6pm, hello thanks for the help.
We got home, and Gulianna was really starting to get a fever and chills. Isa was sounding better, but still sick. All I could do was sit on the sofa and hold them. Gulianna fell asleep, Isa would fall asleep off and on, but just wanted to be held. The house was a mess, because all I've been doing was taking care of Isa all week. I had planned to have it all cleaned and ready for Christmas on Monday. But that never happened. I ended up staying up till 3:30 in the morning, cleaning, washing dishes, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the floors. Plus we still had to wrap presents, but the girls wouldn't go to sleep.
Anyway...that was our Christmas Eve...oh I forgot to add, that Levi was going to stop at the grocery store, we were originally going to stop on the way home, but he had to hurry and go out to do those jobs...so he said he would stop on his way back. I wanted to make a breakfast casserole that night, so that we could just bake it in the morning along with some orange rolls. But of course it was Christmas Eve...and every store was closing early...he stopped at 3 different stores, plus he was a couple hours away...I told him to just stop at the nearest store and pick up stuff. But it was too late.
Again not in our plans for Christmas Eve...lol. He came home at 9pm...and worked on the computer...and helped with our sickly girls.
We still had a good Christmas though, although now Levi and I have caught a cold too, ahhh, never ending!
{...more pictures to come, as soon as I update some long lost posts first!}
