i can't even tell you how excited i am to finally start making this! i love these fabrics so much! i have carried them around with me almost every where, since i bought them last July/August... from my bronco, to my store, then home, then back to the store...etc...
i just love looking at them, the fabric patterns make me happy! and the colors! ahhhh!
i am making this blanket to stay in my bronco...and keep the girls warm on those summer nights when we drive around with the top off!
and to use as a park blanket too...although don't know if i will do it this way...i am putting brown minkee fabric on the back, but i wouldn't want to put that down on grass that has been used as a toilet for dogs, ugh {so gross} so i thought that somehow i could put on some metal snaps on the back and then snap it onto a jean blanket. wouldn't that be cool?! so it is pretty, yet functional :)
Levi suggested that i use both but somehow flip it like a pillowcase...too much work? for me, since i don't know what i am doing.
anyway...there is a pattern for this, but i didn't get it...it's Camille's shortcake pattern! i love it! A couple years ago i had Amy from the Quilt Shoppe make Gulianna's quilt, so i am copying it from there. i have already messed up...i kept going to Levi for help, he knows more about sewing than i do. after i sewed all the strips, i showed him...and he said that the middle section was 1/4 inch off. then he had to prove it too me...sew he got out the ruler. oh well. that's what i get for not cutting every piece out exactly.
anyway it will still look cute :)
and i couldn't keep this little girl off of it!
as soon as i would lay them out on the carpet...she had to crawl as fast as she could across them! over and over...
what a stinker! well i have the flowers cut out...just need to sew them on, and cut strips of fabric for the ends...then i can figure out the back...and take it to get it quilted!
can't wait!
